AD / SAD – opportunity to start and grow an office in Nairobi, Kenya, for a superb UK strategic comms agency
I have a superb opportunity for someone in strategic corporate communications who has experience managing and working with African clients. The role will be based full time in Nairobi, Kenya. Kenya is one of the most up and coming countries in East Africa, and Nairobi itself is an extremely metropolitan city, with a vibrant tech community.
My client is a relatively new UK consultancy, set up by a highly impressive industry figure, with a background in strategic comms. It has experienced remarkable growth, reaching a team of 25 in a little over two years, and doubling in size since the start of the pandemic. An array of clients have come knocking at its door, all of whom bring interesting reputational challenges.
Amongst those are a number of clients in East Africa, and the team has reached a pivot point where the weight of work in that region has given rise to the opportunity to set up a new office. As such it is looking for someone around Account Director / Senior Account Director level, who is hungry for the challenge of starting and growing an office in Nairobi, with full support from the UK leadership team.
This could be someone who has lived and worked in the region before, or someone with experience working with corporate clients in Africa who would relish an exciting new challenge on that continent.
Everything the agency does is rooted in campaigns that genuinely matter, and work that is exclusively linked to major global issues. They only work with clients who are open to addressing what they are actually trying to solve, or what conversation they are wanting to be part of. Existing clients in the region cover sectors such as energy, hospitality, real estate, technology and telecoms.
It’s also a hugely entrepreneurial agency, far more so than you might usually associate with strategic comms. It houses confident, curious people, committed to building something exceptional, not to do what’s been done before.
