Corporate Communications Manager – one of the best known technology companies in the world
My client is one of the best known technology companies in the world, whose mission is making hardware, software and services that help people make the world a better place.
It is looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to join its European corporate comms team. This is a 12 month contract initially, however the aim is very much that it will become permanent. The focus is on finding someone who will be the right fit in the long term (and as such they can look at people on longer notice periods) rather than filling an urgent gap.
The successful candidate will have significant corporate comms experience, with a strong background in news management and delivering stories. Preferably having worked for, or with, global consumer brands.
In particular this role gives is a nice mix of working styles and activity:
– firstly it offers a blend of reactive and proactive work. Plenty of high profile issues to manage, but also a lot of scope to get on the front foot and tell stories, particularly around their key value areas including economic contribution, education, customer privacy, and environmental leadership.
– secondly, you get to blend strategic stakeholder and project management, with external facing delivery. You will have the opportunity to be the interface with the US, navigating a complex global business. Then bring the European team together to manage delivery in their regions, before owning UK delivery as well.
In comparison to other large companies this business has a very lean and flat comms function. Generally it houses experienced comms practitioners who are extremely self sufficient and comfortable carrying plenty of responsibility, yet have no job snobbery, and are willing to get their hands dirty.
