Managing Director (Middle East) – global advisory firm looking for a senior corporate comms practitioner to be embedded client-side into a major petrochemical manufacturer
I have been approached by a global advisory consultancy to help fill a senior corporate comms position in the Middle East.
Specifically the consultancy is looking for someone to be embedded client-side into one of their biggest global accounts, a major petrochemical manufacturer, which is headquartered in the region. The role requires a commitment of at least 12 months working in-house, to ensure continuity for the client. There are multiple options thereafter.
Candidates must have a good degree of previous agency experience in their career, even if they are currently working in house.
The position sits at Managing Director level and will see you play the role of the most senior day to day client liaison. You will directly interface with the client’s most senior stakeholders to develop and execute global communications plans and campaigns in partnership with the consultancy’s four regional teams in the Americas, Europe, Asia and China. The role will report into the Chairman and global client relationship manager, based in the US.
In addition to managing the coordination of global communications among the regions, you will manage special comms and media projects such as global executive positioning, thought leadership campaigns, sustainability communications, crisis communications and more.
The role demands a highly experienced corporate comms practitioner capable of working across multiple communication channels and coordinating across multiple geographies/time zones. On the one hand providing real time counsel on communications strategies to various client business partners and stakeholders, and on the other hand leveraging the consultancy’s global team to manage client deliverables from planning to execution.
The consultancy itself, which is ultimately your employer, is a standalone international advisory firm that views itself as a start-up built on top of one of the world’s most recognisable comms networks. Its services combine business strategy, government affairs, corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and political risk analysis to help clients navigate changing geopolitical dynamics.
The role comes with an attractive salary and package, including managerial bonus and completion bonus for the initial 12 month period. Other benefits include housing, transportation, and comprehensive relocation assistance.
